The Corrosive Challenge #157 - Myth and Magic

"Near them their sisters three, the Gorgons, winged
With snakes for hair— hated of mortal man—"

Myth and Magic.  A few of my favorite things!  This fortnight The Corrosive Challenge dares you to let your imagination roam and create a project focusing on the mystical, magical, mythical.  Fairies, dragons, wizards, goddesses, unicorns...  If it's fantastical, we want to see it for our "Myth and Magic" challenge!

We have a fabulous new sponsor for September, Delicious Doodles!

Owner/artist Teri Sherman has a shop full of amazing images just perfect for this challenge!  And not only has she generously offer four digis of choice to our monthly winner, but she also shared a few of her images with the team for us to use on our projects.  Since I'm a fan of Teri's anyway, I had a variety to choose from.  I selected Medusa's Daughter for my card.  I have a "thing" for the woman with the writhing hair.  She is colored with Copics and Prismacolor Art Markers.  And I added just a dab of sparkle to her eyeshadow.

Those snakes were fun to color, let me tell you!  I cut the image out with my Labels Twenty-Three Nestablities die from Spellbinders.  Paper is DCWV - Blossom Song.  The "snake skin" texture is a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I added seam binding (a gift which arrived in the mail yesterday from my sweet and generous teammate, Kathy of Will Stamp For Wine - thank you, Kathy), flowers, and jewel brads to my card.  The sketch is from Sketches by Carly (#64).

Be sure to head over to The Corrosive Challenge to see what magical creations the rest of the design team has conjured up!  And I hope you'll play along for your chance to win the Delicious Doodles prize as well as the opportunity to be our guest designer for October!

It's a long holiday weekend here so I'll be off to a family cookout later.  Thanks for stopping by and  enjoy your Sunday!

Markers used: Copics (E11, E21, E00, E13, E15, E17, R20, Y35, Y38, YG93, YG95, YG97) and Prismacolor Art Markers (124).

This is really striking, Regan. Love all the greens. Your coloring came out great, those snakes look like they're ready to come slithering off the paper! (EEK). That die is awesome, and love that embossed panel. Everything coordinates just perfectly.
